Visit to Poland

 

From :

1 – 8 December 2009 10 students from our school, 10 students from the partnership school in Leek, UK, 15 students from the partnership school in Denizli, Turkey as well as 8 teachers from those countries were hosted by our partner in Liceum Ogólnokształcąca Nr I im. Jana III Sobieskiego Oława, Poland.

 

Programme:

  1. 01-12-2009 arrival; accommodation at families
  2. 02-12-2009 a folk wedding performed by Polish students , “wedding reception” in a folk style, sightseeing in Wrocław
  3. 03-12-2009 visit to Kraków, sightseeing, dinner in a folk restaurant  and accommodation in Biały Dunajec (close to Zakopane)
  4. 04-12-2009 a  visit to Zakopane- sightseeing, a museum of Hasior (the highlander sculpture), return to Biały Dunajec and a sleigh ride, preparing Christmas ornaments in international groups
  5. 05-12-2009 a visit to Zakopane, a ride to Gubałówka Mountain, folk open-air market, return to Biały Dunajec and folk dances by the highland folk band, lesson – learning folk dances and songs
  6. 06-12-2009 visit to Częstochowa, sightsee the museum there, accommodation at families
  7. 07-12-2009 decorating Christmas trees, presentations about Christmas, workshop in international groups at Lyceum,  a visit to open-air museum in Opole
  8. 08-12-2009 saying goodbye

Visit to Folk house

Where?  Village Kostoľany nad Hornádom

Why?

To see the exhibits of folk arts

To talk to folk artists about folk traditions

To practise weaving and learn about loom

To learn and talk about Christmas traditions  and  customs

OuR LoGo WoN

Our logo won!

 

Our project Comenius „Folk in culture“ has its own logo.

The students from all the partnership schools took part in a competition and created logos.

2 students from our school A. Urbančíková (1.A) and F. Dehaty (2.D) sent their proposals.

On 7 December the students – participants of the visit to Poland voted for a logo and 40 students chose the logo made by Alexandra Urbančíková (1.A)

Positives: the evening when we were all together and we played games

                interesting programme every day

               the wedding was prepared very nicely

Negatives: not  100% organisation of work

                  few evenings when we were together

                  no meal was typical Polish

                  problem with hot water at the guest house (Biely Dunajec)

 

Majo

I think that this trip was very good but I have one negative comment – in Poland we didn´t have any disco. Please change it on next trip.

Family was very nice and friendly, I was satisfied with accommodation and the first dinner was great!

The guided sightseeing in Krakow a bit fast but interesting.

I had mixed feelings after seeing the museum of Hasior.
